Inclined Orbit

Inclined Orbit – the smart Alternative

Skyway.Net provides services on both Inclined Orbit and Stable Orbit positions. Inclined Orbit services are a high quality alternative to Stable Orbit based services – with a clear price advantage.

The difference between the two types of service is the remaining operative time span of a satellite: In the last third of their life cycle satellites show a specific moving pattern – this phase is called “Inclined Orbit”. To neutralize this movement, antennas need a dedicated feature to keep track. Availability and stability of the service remain unchanged.

Due to the shortened life span of satellites in the inclined orbit phase satellite operators require that service agreements have a maximum duration of 12 months - respectively have to be renewed on an annual basis. The service is preemptible.

Equipment geared for Inclined Orbit can be used for Stable Orbit services – thus giving the customer the flexibility to change service type in the future.
